The 2025 PTAB Bar Association Annual Conference will be offered in person from March 19 - 21, 2025, at the Ritz-Carlton in Washington, DC. This year, we are excited to host an entirely in-person event, with no virtual component. We encourage everyone to join us to fully engage with the programming and take advantage of the continuous networking opportunities available throughout the conference.

NOW IS THE TIME TO Renew Your Membership with the PTAB Bar Association—
As you register for the Annual Conference, please be aware that membership with the PTAB Bar Association will expire in March 2025.  You can renew your membership NOW at 2025 Membership Renewal.  Membership payment today will automatically be applied to your 2025-26 membership. Please note, if you are a member of a firm that participates with firm bulk renewal, please reach out to your firm administrator prior to renewing your PTAB Bar Association Membership.
 

Annual Conference Details

  • APJ Panel Programs:  In separate sessions, current and former Administrative Patent Judges (APJs) will discuss recent and ongoing issues relating to appeals to the Board and trial practice.
  • Lost A Decision, Now What?:  A panel of practitioners will explore options for challenging adverse decisions, including rehearing, Director Review, and appeal.
  • Ethics in Patent Law:  This session will address the ethical considerations and challenges faced by patent professionals.
  • Diversity and Inclusion:  This program will examine how diversity and leadership intersect to drive innovation in a changing world.
  • In-House Counsel Panel:  This session will offer valuable insight into the decision-making factors from the perspective of industry members.

  • The Walk for STEM, hosted by the Women’s Committee of the PTAB Bar Association, a one-mile walk through Washington, DC, to support STEM education at 7:00am Thursday morning in front of the Ritz-Carlton.  Click HERE for more information, the walk route, and to register for this free event. 

  • The Walk for STEM will be followed by the Diversity/Women’s Breakfast, a networking breakfast with the Women’s Committee, the Diversity Committee, and PTAB judges from the USPTO. The Breakfast will include an art auction of an original portrait to raise funds for Camp Invention.

  • Networking events Wednesday and Thursday immediately following the day’s programming. Don’t miss the special offerings prepared by the Ritz Carlton chef!
